PolarScreens has been at the forefront of stereoscopic displays since 2003. Our first patent was was even filed close to 10 years prior to the company starting operations. The company's initial focus was on developing and licensing its technology. More recently our focus has changed to develop and manufacture our own products. Irrespective of business model our focus has always been on providing the best possible image.

PerceivaThe original technology development was based on using polarized glasses. PolarScreens licensed this technology to MacNaughton Inc in 2005. Product shipments of their Perceiva DSD190 monitor started in 2006. PolarScreens was intricately involved manufacturing a high quality product that worked effectively in the real world. The high resolution, brightness display exhibited an excellent contrast ratio, a wide and undistorted viewing angle, and less than 2% crosstalk, superior to any technology on the market at the time. MacNaughton released a second monitor based on PolarScreens technology, continuing the high standard set by the Percevia monitors.

MacNaughton's monitors were used for a wide variety of applications including stereo satellite mapping for military and civilian purposes as well as health and technology sectors.

iz3dIn 2006, iZ3D licensed technology that was used in their 22" iZ3D gaming monitor. This widescreen monitor with low response time was ideally suited for video gamers to get impressive 3D graphic in games such as Half Life, Battlefront, Grand Theft Auto, Unreal Tournament, Call of Duty and World of Warcraft. iZ3D promised not to leave your gaming experience flat.

PolarScreens further advanced 3D displays technology in 2010 by developing and patenting a new concept for a full resolution 3D monitor again using polarized glasses. Protection of our technology has always been important and PolarScreens has always actively filed patents throughout the world and is always striving to improve the state of the art.

From the years of experience in creating the best 3D displays using polarized glasses and getting feedback from customers we realized that the ultimate solution must be unencumbered by glasses. The user must be free to look at other displays, objects and people while also seeing 3D objects. With this requirement in mind, PolarScreens started the development of a virtual reality display. This multiyear effort in now coming to fruition in our virtual reality display.
